This video is the documentation of an experimental installation Imge&Sine present #02, with Soundscapes by Remco Weyns. The sisters Imge and Sine Özbilge have always worked as each other’s mirrors, advising one another within their individual artistic practices. However, #01 & #02 are the starting point of an intended collaboration, where the duo attempts to fuse their idiosyncratic styles. It is an experimental study in which two individual visual worlds collide. The two artists have initially started by focusing on differences and have continued by observing their similarities. Subsequently through an effortless, often unconscious assimilation they have brought their individual practices and concepts into a state of osmosis. The result was a mutual focus on the subject of femininity.The selection of concave figures and the exclusion of convex shapes have led to the creation of an obscure dreamy world of feminine dominance. Both artists predominantly use the medium of animation. Together they experiment with the traditional form of the art of animating, while simultaneously playing with the relation of animation and the 16:9 screen.
