In my artist talk, “Cyber Limbo: Artistic Practice Shifting Between the Physical and the Online Hemisphere,” I delve into how the digital and physical worlds intersect and shape my artistic practice. As an audiovisual director and visual artist, I explore the post-net limbo—a space where our physical reality and cyber existence blend. My work revolves around questioning how digital technologies influence human behavior, reshape cognitive processes, and alter the way we create and experience art.
One of my key projects, #21xoxo, examines the effects of 21st-century technology on intimacy and relationships, using fragmented and surreal visuals that mirror our navigation of digital spaces. In my ongoing project, The Uterine Cyber Parturition (UCP), I construct a cyber-myth that reimagines the female form in a celebratory and symbolic way while challenging gendered narratives in both physical and virtual realms. This project exemplifies my practice of moving between the digital and the physical, as I use VR sculpting and 3D printing to create hybrid artifacts. Through my work, I aim to critically and intuitively respond to the profound transformations brought by our digital age, constantly navigating the interplay between these two hemispheres.
